How can I extend my Non-Immigrant ED Visa while waiting for admission to a new school in Thailand?

Hello! I currently have a Non-Immigrant ED (Student) Visa which is expiring on May 25, but I left school to pursue a different degree just this April. The problem is, my application to the school is not yet final and the admission is on August. What can I do to extend my visa for about 3 months? I was thinking of getting a work permit to change my visa, but they usually have 12 months contracts and I only need to be occupied for 3. If I go out of the country and re-enter through a tourist visa exemption, it will only give me 30 days. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their Non-Immigrant ED Visa, which expires on May 25, as they have left their current school to enroll in a new program with a start date in August. They explored options such as applying for a work permit, but have found that a work permit requires a 12-month contract, which does not align with their needs. Comments suggest that leaving Thailand and applying for an appropriate visa with their new school's documents or entering on a tourist visa are viable options.

I guess you have an big stamp from Immigration with the text: Extension of Stay permitted up to 25 May 2022.

If that is the case this permit to stay inside Thailand ended the day you left school, you had to cancel this stamp at your local Immigration Office.

If you did not do this, it means you are in overstay.

A Work Permit is a booklet from the Ministry of Labor that allows you to work at mentioned employer at mentioned address and have nothing to do with your stay in Thailand, there for you need another type of visa and your Non Immigrant ED visa is employment prohibited and can not be used to convert into a Non Immigrant B visa to work.

Only option now is to leave Thailand, apply for the correct visa with documents from your new school and use that visa to come back to Thailand.

Or come to Thailand as tourist to close the gap in time to get documents from the new school.
