Hey all, visa emergency! We had planned to get a 1 year volunteer visa. But suddenly the company helping us says it is not available.
Can anyone help us get a Guardian visa? Our 2 kids are in school here in thailand, on education visas.
Or any other visa that will let us stay here until June?
Our current visas run out on November 1st.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in a visa emergency, needing alternatives to a planned volunteer visa that is no longer available. Their current visas expire on November 1st, and they are looking for a Guardian visa or any other visa to stay until June, as their children are on education visas in Thailand. Responses suggest applying for a COVID extension at their immigration office to buy more time and explore alternative visa options like education visas at schools or even the elite visa. There are complications with certain visas due to recent changes in immigration office policies.
definitely apply for a 60 day covid extension for 1900baht at your immigration office to buy time to find another longer term visa option.
With the big switch of all the section heads at the immigration offices many of the agencies stopped issuing those back door, under the table, b/s "pretend to volunteer" volunteer visas and the equally b/s ED visas too. 😛
I think it' gonna take another couple of weeks to a month before the dust settles and the new section heads give the okay to start cranking out those back door visas/extensions again.
In Phuket (and maybe elsewhere) they won’t issue an in country O visa for being a guardian. They will extend it if you came in on one and have the right financials. Currently the “Covid” extension is available to apply before November 26th, but no one knows if that date will be extended. Perhaps you could look into an education visa at a language school or Muay Thai school.
