TLDR : Answer Summary
The questioner is seeking advice on the best visa options for living in Thailand temporarily before deciding whether to work or settle down. Some commenters suggest considering a long-term tourist visa, specifically a multiple entry tourist visa, which allows for extended stays. However, it's emphasized that there are uncertainties regarding current visa regulations and entry requirements due to external factors.

Ok, I'm going to shut down this post. As of RIGHT NOW, there's no way to legally enter Thailand. If you purchase a multiple entry tourist visa, you start losing time as soon as its physically put in your passport.

My advice: Stay home, visit the two websites I posted for the latest entry and visa requirements. Any talk about insurance requirements, visa entry requirements, and money are all speculations and guesses, which is something we don't discuss in this group.

I'm going to take the option of "I don't know". We don't know what changes will occur in the visa requirements, what your nationality is, or what extra insurance/ costs will exist to enter Thailand.

A good suggestion would be to enter on some type of long term tourist visa (probably a multiple entry tourist visa, valid for 8 months if used correctly), and then use that time to explore Thailand before finding a job or retiring here.

I'm not sure what the passport country you hold, or what the future is though.
