Applying for 60 day tourist visa now after the resent change fly Oct 25 with a one way ticket ,the outbound ticket I need to buy for the visa does flight need to be within the first 30 day or within the 60 days I'm applying for , looking to extend the 30days when there so either way won't be using the fight out
Answer summary
When applying for a 60-day tourist visa to Thailand, your outbound flight must be scheduled within 60 days from the date of entry. This allows you to extend your stay by an additional 30 days at a local immigration office if desired. It's advisable to have proof of onward travel, as this is often required by both immigration and airlines.

If I’m coming over Xmas for 32 days on 30 day exemption and apply to extend 30 days at local immigration office would i have a problem with airline or Thai immigration ?

why not apply for the tourist visa? Unless you're from Zealand, the visa costs less than an extension, you won't have any issues with proof of onward travel, and you won't have to waste a day of your trip at immigration.

Michael Campbell both can give you issues if you don't have an exit before the 30 days is up, so I would look into an onward ticket.

Michael Campbell if you already know the dates I would apply for a 60 day tourist visa before you travel. Faster and cheaper.

A tourist visa grants a 60-day stay, so your onward travel can be within 60 days.

Glenn Prickett. Idk but what about the METV? Is it an option for you?
Greg ***********
Greg ***********
Glenn Prickett if you can't prove three months of account statements over 20,000 THB equivalent, you cannot apply for the SETV
Greg ***********

Glenn Prickett you need to prove the same amount of money for both the single entry and the multi entry tourist visa - 20,000 THB equivalent in Pound Sterling for three months. Just the application fee is higher for the METV

yes, but that will probably be your last entry for a while. Even with tourist visas, once you start to get around 150 days, immigration starts getting suspicious of people trying to spend so much time in Thailand as a tourist.
