TLDR : Answer Summary
The best immigration office in Bangkok for extending a 30-day visa exemption or a 60-day tourist visa is the Muang Thong Thani Immigration Office. To apply for a 30-day embassy request extension at this office, you must make an appointment online. There is no option for a 90-day extension from a visa-exempt entry stamp unless it's based on medical reasons.

@T**
, how do you get a 90 day extension off a visa-exempt? Is that possible?

That's why I just ignored that part of the post.. ;)

Unless it's an extension based on medical reasons (which can be issued for up to 90 days) you don't, :O :/

There is no 90 day extension from a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp possible other than medical that I'm aware of.

Hi
@Tod ********
. I'm sorry to ask if it's been answered already but apart from the embassy letter what documents do we need to take to Muang Thong Thani to apply for a 30 day embassy request extension. Thanks for any advice.

1. Your passport.

2. Copies of: (sign each page)

a. Data ("picture") page

b. A copy of the page with visa exempt stamp

c. A copy of the departure card

d. A copy of embassy letter

e. A copy of your entry stamp

3. ONE passport photo (only handed one photo. Others have said 2 is needed. )

4. 1,900 THB fee (be sure to hand it separate from you stack of papers or they will drop it.)

5. A form acknowledging the overstay penalty. They will provide this.

6. TM 7

7. Proof of an appointment booking online. Vital.

IF you entered the country on a 30 day visa exempt OR a 60 day tourist visa entry to get the 30 day embassy request extension you use the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office location.
Tod *********
There is no which is best <-as in you can't pick and choose what office you go to.

How about stating the original entry stamp you came in on back before the country was locked down at the end of March and we'll tell you what office you use here in Bangkok?

Hey
@Tod ********
, I came in a 30 day tourist visa. I've been on the amnesty visa since.

@Olivier *******
correction, There is no 30 day tourist visa, SO if you showed up here without having bought a visa from a thai consulate and you were stamped in for 30 days for free you came in on what's known as a 30 day visa exempt entry.

AND

You DO go to the Muang Thong Thani immigration office.
