Hello , with the Visa free going from 60 to 30. If you already have booked return flight and hotel for 38 days but will extend visa in Thailand .
Will Australia Carrier allow me to board . Thanks
Answer summary
A user is concerned about boarding a flight to Thailand after the visa exemption period was reduced from 60 to 30 days. Despite having a return flight booked for 38 days, they plan to extend their stay in Thailand. Forum responses highlight the uncertainty surrounding airline policies and immigration enforcement, suggesting that while airlines might allow boarding, Thai immigration could deny entry upon landing. Users recommend contacting the airline and immigration services to clarify the situation and consider obtaining a tourist visa for added security.

Call your airline to make sure, but it's most likely "Yes".
While everybody's in a "panic", not much has really changed except 60-to-30 days, and tighter enforcement.
There's no indication a routine 30-day extension won't be granted for a legitimate tourist.
60-day Tourist visa, roughly 1900 Baht, and NO trip to Immigration for the extension, but some pre-trip paperwork, AND no worry at the airline counter. LOL
I booked my flight for 51 days, long before the approval of reverting 60 days to 30. I am in the same position as yours, now workin' on gathering alk documents to apply for single entry tourist visa.
To answer your question, i emailed airline and asked about this situation if i'll be denied boarding if i dont have 60-day visa. They told me to call Thailand embassy and ask about it. On their side, they wouldnt deny me boarding but Thai immigration might deny me entry upon landing
Then i emailed Thailand embassy and ask the same exact question. They answered i should ask the airline itself and my very own immigration BEFORE leaving homecountry because i MIGHT get denied boarding and stamp out.
I went to my immigration (close to my home) and personally presented this case and showed them email responses of airline and Thai embassy. Guess what the guy said! He told me they have no power to hold me off boarding just because my return flight is over than visa exemption.
Neither sides can be trusted at this point and i do not want to take my chances being denied boarding for the ticket i had paid since January, also i do not want to risk being denied entry into Thailand. Hence, $50 tourist visa and a bit of hasle with required documents
Shane Mcduff Shane Mcduff Enter on 30 day Visa exemption, then extend for another 30 that should see you thru
There is a cut off for when you can apply for the extension, On arrival visit the local immigration office, hit them up, Ask when to apply for the extension and what they want.
People get annoyed because it's like registering a car at the Logan Transport office,
nothing to do with the embassy. Either your airline will allow you to board or not. There's a very slim chance that Thai immigration will want to see a return ticket but only if they are looking for a reason to deny you entry. So if you don't have an extensive history of visiting Thailand you shouldn't need to worry about that.
thankyou , i have a return ticket and date already booked . My only worry is will carrier allow to board . Have spoken with them . They said talk to Embassy. I Agree no point .
Ian Morrison : I agree. But even then the person at the airline who one asks in advance will not be the same person at check-in or at the gate. There's really just no way to know.
