So I saw a discussion on another group about cash on hand to be able to enter Thailand. I thought I knew the answer to this but a google search provided many contradicting answers so I ran here to where the facts live ๐
For a visa exemption is it 10000 thb or equivalent?
For a NON-O is it 20000 or equivalent?
TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand, individuals traveling on a visa exemption must carry a minimum of 20,000 THB (or its equivalent in foreign currency) as proof of funds if requested by immigration officers. For those on a Visa on Arrival (VOA), the requirement is 10,000 THB. While the requirement is not strictly enforced for Non-Immigrant visas such as the NON-O, it is advisable to be prepared to show cash in case you are asked.
