I'm in Bangkok with family. My 8 year old nephew is starting school here. He is from the Uk, on a visa exemption. The school have given him all the registration certifcates and documents. They said it would be easy to get a visa for him, but currently their visa assistant is away. How quickly could we get a visa for my nephew? What is the process like? Help would be appreciated !!!! ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a visa for your 8-year-old nephew starting school in Bangkok, you should gather the necessary documentation from the school and the Ministry of Education. Then, visit the main immigration office on Chaengwattana Road to apply for a 90-day Non-ED visa. The application will cost 2000 baht, and you will receive a receipt instructing you to return in two weeks for the visa results. Make sure that there's a minimum of 15 days left on your nephew's current visa exemption stamp to be eligible for the application.

You take the documentation from the school and the Ministry of Education to the main immigration office at the government complex (Building B) out on Chaengwattana road and apply for the 90 day Non-ED visa for 2000baht in section C-1
The will take the application, the fee and give you a receipt that says come back in 2 weeks for the "results". On that date you take the passport and receipt back to that section and get the NOn-ED visa and new 90 day stamp inked in
Remember you need a MINIMUM of 15 days left on that free 30 day visa exempt entry stamp to apply
If you don't have 15 days left on your current stamp then you FIRST go to the immigration office on the 3rd floor of IT Square Laksi Plaza and get that 30 day extension for 1900baht
