What is the process and duration for obtaining an ED visa in Thailand after selecting a school?

To obtain an ED visa in Thailand, once you find an approved school, the school will prepare all necessary documents for you. You will need to apply at the relevant consulate in the morning with the school's paperwork and generally can pick up your visa the next afternoon. After enrolling and paying tuition, you will receive paperwork from your school and the Ministry of Education to go out of the country and get a 90-day single-entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa. Upon entering Thailand, you'll be stamped in for 90 days. Before this period ends, your school will provide you with documentation to apply for a visa extension at the immigration office, which can be granted for an additional 60 to 90 days, allowing you to repeat this process throughout the school year.
