I realise that embassy of different countries requires some additional documents.

For banking statement for the last 6 months, means each months or age of statement no later than 6 months ?

I did mine in HK. Completely online. You have to be in HK to apply, but you can leave as soon as you've sent the application (or at least I left and got my visa while in Vietnam)

How long did it take?

5 business days, but I got there on a Saturday before a Thai holiday on a Monday, so it took 10 days in total 😅

Hi, can we be from any country and apply for DTV on a visit to Hong Kong?
Steve *******
@Fasih ******
no, you always have to be in the country you apply in. You've already asked this before.

@Steve ******
Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to ask is whether as a Pakistani citizen, I can apply via the HK online system when I'm physically in Hong Kong as a tourist?
Steve *******
@Fasih ******
I did it as a tourist. Not sure if it's different for a Pakistani passport holder, but you can email them and ask. They replied pretty fast when I asked them.

1) check the website of the specific embassies. It answers all of your questions.

2) every Thai embassy in SE Asia requires you to submit your application in person

3) how would you get a visa placed in your passport if you're not there with your passport?

4) every embassy is different, the information is on their website

In South Korea the DTV is processed as any other e-visa, and they give it as such, just a print yourself paper. Nevertheless, they only accept applications from either Korean cifizens or non-Koreans with a legal long-term residence in Korea.

(And I know SK is not South East Asia, but I just mentioned as it is the only experience I have).
