Hi to members..I am on a non o 'retirement' visa. My current passport will expire before the end of the year.I can renew my passport from Thailand. Upon receiving my new passport what is the process for getting visa stamps transferred to the new passport..thanks in advance.
Answer summary
When renewing a passport while on a NON-O 'retirement' visa in Thailand, it's essential to transfer your visa stamps to the new passport. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Renew your passport at your embassy in Thailand. 2. Once you have the new passport, visit your local immigration office with both the old and new passports. Request the transfer of your relevant visa stamps, particularly your Extension of Stay and Reentry Permit. Although transferring stamps may not be necessary since immigration can access your details electronically, it's advisable to take both passports when traveling. In some cases, immigration may ask you to complete a form before proceeding with the transfer.

Go to your local immigration office as soon as possible, they will add all your relevant visa details FREE of Charge.

You don't legally need your old passport anymore because Everything is on their master computer, but it may help if you take it anyway.

Just take both passport to the airport when you travel. I went through this.

Just to be clear, the original visa no longer matters, it is expired, dead, finished, the only things that matter are the current Extension Of Stay and Reentry Permit stamps. After you get the new passport you can go to your local immigration office and see if they will transfer those stamps to the new passport but more likely you'll just need to take both passports next time you travel, give both to the immigration officer and they will just put new stamps in the new passport at that time.

Just travel with the old and the new passport, when you renew your extension of stay introduce both and they will stamp the new. Just make sure that the old extension is not invalidated by the embassy

You simply visit your immigration office with both passports and ask them to transfer the stamps. They may ask you to complete a form before they do

Immigration is not transferring any visa from the old to the new passport. The original visa used to be a sticker from an embassy, and nowadays the visa is a paper document from an embassy you printed from the .pdf you received by Email. . . . . Immigration will only transfer THEIR OWN stamps. And that would be the stamp of the 1-year Extension of Stay Permit Based on Retirement, and any re-entry permit stamp you bought for this 1-year stay permit
