TLDR : Answer Summary
An English teacher seeking to switch jobs in Thailand should be mindful of their visa expiration in late November. Key points include understanding the current visa type, considering potential delays or challenges due to COVID-19, and exploring options for transferring the existing visa to a new employer. It may be prudent to discuss with the current employer about an extension or immediate job change to avoid complications at immigration, especially since some offices have different regulations regarding such transitions. Planning ahead is essential, and it might be advisable to renew the extension before the visa expires.
Yes, I am on the one year extension of stay. If I decide to stick with my current employment, do you suggest getting another yearly extension before the amnesty period ends? Or can I do it in November when my extension is about to run out?

I doubt you have a visa, I believe you have a one year extension of stay based on employment as a teacher.
IF both your current and future employer agree to work together, and IF the immigration office allows it, you can cancel your existing extension of stay based on employment at your current school, and then get a new extension of stay based on employment for your new school. Some immigration offices allow it, some don't.
Regarding what Richard Barrow is getting for his teachers, each immigration office operates differently. ALSO, IF you're planning on switching jobs in November, the amnesty will be over, so if everything returns to the way it was before, you'll have to leave Thailand by 11:59PM the same day if you do not get that extension of stay transferred over.
If you have your work permit and are on an extension with 90 day check ins, you can talk with your school about exiting and transferring the visa to a new school if you have one lined up already.
Without any background information, such as what kind of visa did you use to enter Thailand and when did you enter Thailand, there is no way to tell what to do or how to get the correct visa if needed
