Hi Guys! Anyone here who done extension of 180 days in Thailand without leaving the country recently? My first 180 days on that visa is about to end. So I wonder what is required to extend it here in Thailand? Do I have to update dates on the employment letter? I heard that they are asking for Thai bank account statement? Is it true? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a 180-day visa in Thailand without leaving the country, requirements vary by immigration office. Some offices, like those in Chiang Mai, may require a Thai bank account statement and additional documentation, such as an updated employment letter or proof from your landlord. Immigration officers have been known to suggest leaving the country for a new visa stamp instead of granting extensions. Always check with the specific immigration office for detailed requirements.
Some require it in a Thai bank account, and some will also require additional documentation from your landlord too which your landlord may or may not went to provide.
Also you regarding funds, you'd also be requested to keep the funds available for At least 30 days and also not all immigration offices grant the extension immediately.
You will also need updated soft power documents or employer documents
Each immigration office sets their own requirements. So two offices will not be the same. I know in Chiang Mai they are requiring a Thai bank account. From what many reports from multiple offices have said, the immigration officers basically do not want to grant DTV extensions and are suggesting people leave and return to get a new 180 day stamp. Here are the published requirements for Bangkok.
