Can I apply for a METV while my DTV application is pending?
Hi everyone! 😊 My DTV application is currently being processed, but I’ve been asked additional documents that I unfortunately don’t have.
Has anyone been in this situation? Can I switch to a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) while my DTV is still pending, or do I need to wait for it to be cancelled or rejected?

OPThank you for your replies, but I simply want to know whether anyone has applied for a tourist visa after their DTV application was refused. I understand that my documents don’t meet the requirements (I’m not completely stupid). I’m just asking if anyone has experience with this situation.

Lea4652 Everything is possible as long as you don’t have any pending visa applications. Whether you’ll be approved or rejected again is impossible to predict. It depends on the quality of the documents you provide and if you fill the requirements.

They want to see that you earn money with your business. If you have no clients, than you don‘t earn money. If you have clients but have no written invoices now you can show your contracts with them. If you have nothing of this it is really to early for a workation visa. And you should do more research because it seems you don‘t know so much about the requirements of DTV workation.

Lea4652 You have to wait for the rejection. After this you can try it with another visa category. You should write a letter about your situation and ask if another categorie would be possible if you get rejected. Perhaps they offer you something and you din‘t have to do a complete new process.

Let them know you can't produce the documents by uploading a letter in their place explaining your situation. I suspect it won't be long before your application is rejected

Lea4652 also put in explanation letter that you used to be an independent freelancer, show them your past invoices/contacts on your name from your last clients, just clarify that you just started your company but you have a lot of experience in that field and you are just moving forward - not starting from the beginning

Lea4652 the option is to show some hypothetical contracts ( future service agreements ) if you have them together with the explanation letter about your company strategy, which can clarify your potential income.

So you thought that starting a bogus company, would get you a visa !
Didn’t you read that if you submitted false documents, it would give a basis for rejection and a ban from getting any type of visa to Thailand.

Lea4652 unfortunately, if you don't have any clients, you're not actually doing business. All the work you're doing to establish the business doesn't really count, I'm afraid.

No way out once having applied, though the Embassy may convert at their end solely if convinced ! Strange that you aren't able to provide the required docs, which itself substantiates your ineligibility !
