What is the process for obtaining a Covid extension in Bangkok at Chaeng Watthana?

Hi everyone! I will need my first Covid extension (after TR60+30) next week.

I spoke with the IO in Pai and they apply the 15day "under consideration period" before giving 60 days, and as I'll be in Bangkok next week, I am thinking of getting it there instead.

1. Is Chaeng Watthana still the place to go? I can't book "covid extension" on the website ( [members only] )

2. are they using the 15day "under consideration" period too? I understand that some IOs do, some others don't

3. Is any additional document (on top of TM30, TM6 and TM7) needed? (e.g letter from the embassy etc) from recent experience?

Thanks a lot!

TLDR : Answer Summary
This conversation discusses the procedure for obtaining a Covid extension for a tourist visa in Bangkok, specifically at the Chaeng Watthana immigration office. The user seeks clarification on whether Chaeng Watthana is the correct location to apply, the duration of the 'under consideration' period, and if any additional documents are required beyond the standard TM30, TM6, and TM7 forms. A respondent confirms that Chaeng Watthana is indeed the place to go, mentioning the usual processing timelines and the need for discretion based on the specific immigration officer's decision. The user also inquires about the necessity of arriving early to fill out forms for their appointment.

Side question: if I make an appointment, should I go early to pick up and fill up the forms?

I have forms from Pai IO but they won't work in BKK I believe. Thanks!

better to go a bit early as you said. And right, Bangkok has its own forms. You can find some of them in the files section of this group.

You will go to Chaengwattna. You will choose 'Extension for Tourist Visa'.

CW usually gives you 30days under-consideration period, not 15days IF your application is approved. In that case, you have to go back to CW to get the final stamp.

The decision is on the immigration officer you are dealing with when you actually apply for it, and considered case by case. Your having exactly the same documents as someone who got approved yesterday doesn't assure you to be able to be approved.

Here is the GENERAL information.
