Just want to report my experience at Muang Thong Thani today, getting a “covid-19 extension” on a 30 day visa exempt with the (UK) embassy letter.
I arrived at 7am, the 2nd floor waiting area of the building was already full, so as others say definitely get there super early or you’ll possibly be turned away by late morning (I saw it happen to people as I left around 11.30am, some were on their last days and were told they have to pay the 500 baht fine tomorrow...) I waited outside perhaps 15 minutes before we all went up to the 3rd floor where we waited until almost 10am.
You then all go down row by row to the 2nd floor to have documents checked and fill out the STM.2 ‘acknowledgement’ form while you wait in your new rows, which then go down to the main (air-conditioned) visa area downstairs in groups of 10-15 or so.
To be clear the documents needed as of today are:
. One TM.7 form
. One photo, glue it onto the TM.7
. STM.2 form
. Embassy letter
. Printed confirmation email from the embassy (although one worker said you can show the email on your phone)
. Scans of passport bio page, entry stamp, visa sticker (if available), last extension stamp, immigration/departure card (TM.6) - sign all the pages
. 1900 baht fee
You *DON’T* need any accomodation contracts/letters/TM.30 etc.
Hand it all in downstairs then wait on the other side of room to collect your passport - hey presto. I was given 28 days.
Please beware that if you want to print something on the second floor they dont have internet access and are charging 100 BAHT per page (and 5 baht per scan). Do it before you go to save the cash.
LOCATION: I was a little confused before I went as the information isn’t very precise, so I’m copying the coordinates which is the *exact* building, promise. Just copy and paste this into google:
(13.9181948, 100.5509898)
Many thanks to this group and its admins who’ve helped me a lot. Really appreciate it.
Good luck and stay safe✌🏼
