My experience at Changwattana Immigration today for the purpose of extending a 30-day visa exemption.
Turned up later than intended at 9:15am. Roughly 200 people were in front of me. I accidentally jumped the queue by about 100 people by not understanding that the long queue was for a ticket number and not the information desk. Nobody corrected me or told me to jog on, so I chanced my luck and it was fine. Got ticket number 140 and had to wait just over an hour to be seen. I was told the TM.7 form I downloaded from this group was out of date. The correct one was given to me from directly outside the booth (K), which looked nearly identical but slightly different. Because of needing to complete the in-date form, I missed my ticket calling, but they sat me down inside the booth to be seen as soon as I had completed the form, so no worries there. Gave the following documents; actual passport; passport copy; 1 x photo, copy of entry stamp; 1900 baht. I wasn't asked for TM30 receipt or proof of onward travel (I had both on me). After giving over my documents, I was told to sit outside the booth until they called my name. This last bit of the process took roughly 30 minutes. All in all, I was in and out in about 130 minutes. Note, there is plenty of parking for motorcycles directly outside the main entrance.
