TM30 Online Reporting - I was at CW yesterday and made an enquirery as to why my online registration for the TM30 reporting was taking so long. I completed the online registration a month ago and received the email confirmation request 3 days later, since then it has been quiet. The reception desk tried to brush me off, telling me to be patient, reluctantly, after pressure from me, they agreed to provide me with a number so I could talk to one of the officers at the TM30 reporting desk. It was a little chaotic, a slew of people paying fines and making new registrations. Clearly, they are overwhelmed by the number of people visiting CW and by the number of online registration requests. I was told that the turn around should be approximately 2 weeks but, under the current strain of requests, and limited resources, they cannot commit to that. Whilst a waited they reviewed my applicationt, 20 minutes later they confirmed it had been approved. I received the email confirmation with a user name and password this morning. It should be noted that I own the condo and had all the relevant paperwork with me, they didn't ask to see it, the information I submitted online was sufficient. If you are in a hurry to have your online application approved I suggest you make a visit to your local imigration office. If not, you just need to sit back and be patient. I hope this helps.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the author's experience with the TM30 online reporting process for expats in Thailand, particularly the delays in registration confirmation. After submitting the online application and receiving confirmation of receipt, the author faced several challenges when following up at the Chiang Mai immigration office. Although the reception desk suggested being patient, they managed to communicate with an officer who confirmed their application approval after 20 minutes. The author advises others to visit their local immigration office if they need urgent processing of their TM30 applications, but for less urgent cases, patience may be required.
