Good morning guys, hope you are all staying safe. I have a 2 part Q.

1.When I am due to renew my retirement extension, what is the minimum passport validity ?

2. If the answers to Q1 result in me having to renew my passport, due to the time it takes to process, how do I 90 day report without my passport ?

For the purpose of my Q let's imagine everything is normal. (I understand immigration reporting rules during these COVID19 times)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The minimum passport validity for renewing a retirement extension in Thailand is generally at least 1 year or until your passport's expiration date, whichever comes first. If you need to renew your passport before your extension renewal, you should keep your current passport with you, as you are required to have your passport on you while in Thailand. Additionally, the comments clarify that immigration reporting rules remain the same regardless of current events like COVID-19.

And here you find your information how to get a new passport. Good Luck

Sorry, but how to apply for a new passport is not Thai visa related.

Covid19 times has nothing to do with the validity of your passport or the application for an Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age

But COVID19 times does have a bearing on an application for a new passport, it massively effects process times, or at least I'd assume it would.

You apply for a new passport, until you have a new passport, you keep the current passport with you.

You are not allowed to walk around without a passport in a foreign country.

I always thought you had to submit your old passport when applying for a new passport

The Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years is age is maximum 1 year or until the validity date of the passport, which ever comes first.
