TLDR : Answer Summary
The community suggests several services for transferring smaller amounts of money to Thailand, with 'Wise' frequently mentioned as the most reliable and cost-effective option. 'Remitly' and 'Western Union' are also discussed, but Wise is often favored for its favorable exchange rates and lower fees. Users recommend comparing rates on Wise’s platform and considering ATM withdrawals for smaller transactions without conversion charges to maximize savings.

Just get a Charles Schwab account. All ATM fees from any bank, anywhere in the world are refunded at end of month. No monthly fees. Free checking. No international transaction fees. Great exchange rate when u take money out of a ATM (similar to a good exchange booth like SuperRich exchanges).

Use International bank transfer, costs you but your money is tracked and safe

Wise or revolut

ATM ‘s work fine

Choose the one with the lowest transaction fee ( the yellow ones, if I remember correctly, do not let the ATM convert , rather choose allowing your credit card provider convert and since there is a fixed fee, take the maximum withdrawl allowed?

P..S all ATM have an English option , sometimes the button is hard to find

It's not about fast transfers,it's about the best exchange rate and hopefully in combination with a low fee.

Wise

Torfx no charges..

If you look at Wise there is a comparison tool that is really useful. Wise is not always the cheapest on their comparison tool.
Max *************
Wise without a doubt.

Remitly has been great for me. Faster than Wise in my experience.

The exchange rate is more important than speed and Remitly can't match Wise.

To each their own.

If under 30k use atm select "Continue with out conversion" Western Union charges too much for cash pick up and takes off average of 1.50$ from exchange. ( with out thai bank )

If you have someone you trust with thai bank or yourself wise is the next option

Wise wins hands down.

Wise. Some prefer XE, try the numbers for the amount you’re trying to do. Charges change but so will offered exchange rates.

One may be better than the other depending on the amount and currency you’re wanting to transfer.
