The days to go on your own are NOT on a Monday OR on a Thursday because those are the days the visa run companies from Bangkok and Pattaya show up there

SO if you're going on your own, go on a Tuesday, Wednesday OR a Friday <- but if you go on friday you stay in lao over the weekend because you don't get your passport back until the following Monday
