Will a Non-O visa application be rejected if income is from wages instead of pension?

Evening all.

A friend of mine has been married to a thai lady for 2 years now,when he comes to visit he's been coming on visa exempt entry.

He's applying for a Non O visa 90 days, he can prove the 65k a month income, as he still works he's only 50 years old. He's worried that the money coming into his bank account is wages not any kind of pension, would the uk thai embassy knock him back for a visa, as when he's here there's no money going into his account. As they would see from bank statement it's money from a employer.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring if their friend, married to a Thai national, will face issues applying for a Non-O visa with declared income from wages rather than a pension. Several commenters suggest that the source of income should not affect the visa application as long as the earnings meet the required threshold. Recommendations for ensuring compliance with Thai immigration rules include exploring options for a marriage visa, maintaining sufficient funds in a Thai bank account, and ensuring the foreign income is properly transferred to Thailand.

With a non-O visa/extension the restriction on employment is only within Thailand. Many non-O holders are FIFO workers who are in and out of Thailand on a regular basis. This practice is fine, and the monthly transfers of 65k can be from overseas employment. Although I'm not a FIFO worker, my first three years in Thailand, I was still working in my law firm for six months of the year. I had no pension at that stage, but Bangkok Immigration do not ask to see where the money from overseas comes from. I also moved around Thailand a bit for several years and other immigration offices I used similarly simply accepted the monthly transfers. The only criteria is the money MUST be transferred from overseas

Just put 400k in a thai account and be done with it. Its so easy, and if you can't afford it then stay home and keep working until you can.

You said you are married same here. 2 years I have retired and getting a small private pension.

I have got the O visa for 90 days. In which time I will open a bank account with ten thousand pounds off four hundred thousand thai bahts to get the married year visa leaving this money in the bank guarantees that I will always have the right amount of money plus if the government gets tighter with regulations.And I have to leave, i've got some starting up money back in the uk.Or wherever I would end up lol i am told by the site as soon as I arrive there next week if to go and get the bank account sorted. My wife has the house farm with her book already

what do you mean with that coment??

The source of the funds shouldn't matter for most embassies. Though he'll need to figure out how to get the extension in Thailand if that's the plan, because he won't be able to use monthly income there.

IS there difference If that's Works income instead of pension?

@Jyrki ********
not for the that embassy. But the UK embassy in Thailand doesn't certify income so there's no possibility of using any income for your first extension in Thailand.
