Needing to leave the country to get a new tourist visa. Do not want to do it by bus over the border, which is the best/easiest country and embassy to deal with if I want to fly somewhere . Currently in Phuket

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on the best country and embassy to visit for obtaining a new tourist visa after leaving Thailand from Phuket, expressing a preference for flying rather than crossing by bus. Comments suggest several options, including flying to Malaysia (Penang), Laos, or Singapore, with specific mentions of flight services like Scoot airlines to Penang, where a Thai Consulate is located.

laos by train or malaysia by flight / train / bus would be the best option

Yes... IF the Thai immigration officer is willing to STAMP you in again. With your recent history be prepared to answer the question if asked by the Thai Immigration Officer..Why do you stay in Thailand so long?

there is no appointment booking for the thai consulate in Penang, you just show up, BUT how about you go to the website of that consulate and read the requirements so you can make sure you can get a tourist visa (or an ED visa if your school gives you the documentation)

Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, but keep in mind if you have a passport full of covid extensions you're gonna have issues with the consulate in Singapore issuing you a tourist visa

Why not just go across the southern border to the thai consulate in Penang Malaysia and get a tourist visa there?

that is between you and the school you're dealing with and whether they can provide the documentation to get the ED visa issued outside the country at a thai consulate.

You need to be talking to them about it
