Have anyone applied for the DTV visa in Vietnam or Taiwan? If so do they require the 500,000 baht to be in the account for a total of 3 months or just have it in the account when you apply ? Apparently United States want $16k each month and I arrive to Thailand in 3 weeks .

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several users shared their experiences applying for the DTV visa in Taiwan and Vietnam. A common requirement is to have 500,000 baht in the bank account, but the timing of when these funds need to be deposited can vary. One individual mentioned that their funds were deposited just a week prior to the application and that submitting 6 months of bank statements was necessary. Another user indicated that the funds should ideally be in the account for 0 to 6 months depending on the specific embassy's regulations. It's suggested to apply from one's home country to expedite the process.

I applied for my visa in Taiwan on June 19, 2025, as a dependent of my husband. My bank account had 500K, with the funds transferred just a week before the application and my visa was approved on June 20, 2025. Just one day of waiting!

Look at the website of the wanted Thai embassy, or search the group for those specific Embassies

The money has to have been in the account for 0 - 6 months depending on embassy.

Best to apply in your homecountry, where they are used to see the sorts of documents originating from that country, which can make processing faster, without need for additional documentation.

And you save money not traveling to and stay in a 3. country where you don’t want to be, for weeks, waiting for visa to be approved.

Use the search option before asking questions that has been answered countless times

US embassies were not like that before. There has been a tightening up on DTV applications and 3 months banking of the 500k could be the norm everywhere soon.
