How long does it take to get an expedited visa approval through the US Consulate in LA for Thailand?

Didn't hear anything until I called on Jan 13. I fly Jan 20, so was getting nervous. They said call back Jan 15. I called this morning (the 15th) and they said they'd expedite it but no promises. 6 hours later it was approved. Lots of relief!
