How long until I should start chasing up???

Hey team

Put my application in last Saturday the 11th from

Australia to the Canberra embassy. (I’m in Brisbane Australia). 

I know it’s only been a week, but I have a flight booked on the 5th of February. 

I read through this group extensively before applying so I included many, many additional documents, hoping to ensure a smooth a quick process. 

I still have just over two weeks, but I was expecting to hear something, according to what other people’s experiences have been on here. (Seems to be done within a week)

Am I worrying for nothing?

I got mine in 7 days from Canberra embassy. Check your spam email too.

It can take up to 4 full weeks…..

It is not the fault of the embassy that you did apply too late or planned your flight too soon.

A general rule for getting visa all over the world is to take time for about a month.

That average processing time is between 1 and 3 weeks is no guarantee it will be in your case.

So don't start chasing up, and in case you do not get approval in time, change your flight date.

I was in Thailand until Friday the 10th of Jan and my application was in on the 11th, the day I arrived back in Australia. You cannot apply when in the country.

I know, that is because it is a visa not meant for people actually living in Thailand.

I applied on the 8th at Canberra, asked for additional docs (new photo) on the 10th which I did.

Emailed them on 17th for an update and they said it’s complete but waiting final update. Whatever that means.

Still waiting now, hopefully tomorrow
