Has anybody had any experience with the new online system in the U.K. Applying online then getting an appointment at the embassy. I’ll be applying for a Non B visa in the next week or so and I would like to know the timescale for the application.

I don't know of anybody personally who has applied but the requirements are here. Note there are 4 different sets of requirements depending on reason for the visa.
