Hi all, bit of a long shot, I know, but has anyone on here had experience with applying for a Non Immigrant B at the Thai Embassy in Seoul, South Korea? If so, how long did it take? I’ve recently taken up my first teaching post in Thailand and this’ll be my first time applying for a Non Immigrant B. Seeing as I’ve had a trip to Korea booked for ages was hoping to kill two birds with one stone. Not sure if it makes any difference but Aussie passport. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query seeks experiences regarding applying for a Non Immigrant B visa at the Thai Embassy in Seoul, particularly from an Australian expat who has recently begun teaching in Thailand. The comments highlight the importance of confirming whether the embassy processes visas for non-residents, the necessity of obtaining required documentation from the employer, and a recent change in visa application policy indicating that only residents of South Korea can apply in person for visas, effective from November 1, 2022.

Nobody, unless you have residency in South Korea can apply there any longer, for any visa as they switched to Evisa only application from the 1st November 2022

Be very aware that you must have a university degree that has been certified as being real by your university. Without this you can not get the required work permit you must have to teach. To get the visa you must have all the documents the school gives you to apply. You can not get the visa without the documents the school gives you.

many Thai embassies are very difficult to contact by email or phone. If the embassy in Seoul has a Facebook page, many times sending them a message that way is the best way to an answer.

I pulled a tourist visa from Seoul, that was a couple of years ago.

Often times when you take a teaching position the school will assist with the visa paperwork. You may want to contact the school. I believe some visas can be converted to non-b while others can not.

The most important thing to find out is if they will even do it at all. Some embassies will not process visas for non-citizens or non-residents of the country they are in.
