Current Non OA visa VALID UNTIL (ON VISA STICKER) 1 Dec 2022 (stamp on arrival valid thru 14 dec 2022) but we scheduled to be travelling out of Thailand from 19th Oct and return on 3rd Dec 2022. Would like to ask for some advice on belows:-

1) we would like to submit our renewal on monday 17 oct 2022 provided our insurance company will be able to provide yus the certificate within a day. Will the renewal at the immigresen in person be done in a day or they need to keep our passport for few days?

2) if we were to change our flight and the earliest we arrived at suvarnabhumi on 1st Dec late noon, will they stamp on non OA or as visitor?

3) if they stamp as non OA, are we able to renew our non OA the next day or we need to do so on the same day? Which will be challenging considering going to bank to get bank letter before heading to the immigresen.

TIA for any help or advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about renewing their Non OA visa while planning to travel out of Thailand near its expiration date. Key concerns included the renewal process, possible delays with the passport, re-entry entry stamps, and insurance proof requirements. Responses clarified that the renewal might need to wait until 30 days before the expiration date, and stamped entries upon re-entry would depend on current regulations. It was emphasized that securing the required insurance is crucial for extension eligibility.

1) If you mean you want to apply for a 1-year extension based on retirement, I don't think you can apply for it on 17 Oct with your current stamp until 14 Dec. At most offices, the earliest you can apply for it is when you have 30 days or less with your current stamp, which means 14 Nov. (45 days or less at some offices, which is 31 Oct). The 1-year extension is issued on the spot.

2) You will be stamped a shorter date of 365 days or your insurance validity if you enter Thailand again on or before 1 Dec.

3) in that case you would have 1 year until you have to apply for 1-year extension based on retirement around Nov 2023 on Non-OA entry.

You're still in the FIRST year of the OA visa.

Its expiration date is December 1.

IF you reenter Thailand on or before December 1 you will be stamped in for One ADDED Year.

To get the added One year extension....you need to show PROOF of the OA insurance requirements for the full year.

AND if you were to choose to do a border bounce before you leave Thailand on your planned trip...

Get the OA required insurance and re-enter Thailand to get one year added stamp to stay in Thailand.
