Good morning all,

Looks like i need some help/ideas.

In short, i am in Thai since almost 10 years, working for a german company here in bkk.

Workpermit and Non B are valid until 20 of October 2020.

Last Week, they told me, my contract will be terminated at 1.7.20 (but thats another issue).

So far so good, i understand they will cancel my workpermit within next week.

First question, how about my visa.... will it be valid until October, or will it be invalid after WP cancelation ? If invalid, any time frame to get a new visa ?

Next question regarding new visa. Since i am planing to stay here for the next years, what kind of visa(s) i can going for ?

I am 57 now, my home since 10 yesrs is Thai. Heard there are 2 Retirement visas (1 year and 10 years) with the requirements of 800k or 3 mio thb, what can be fulfilled.

Btw, i am not married with a Thai yet, no children.

Add question to retirement visa.... Lets say i get a retirement visa, i am allowed to work ?

Guess the answer is - no, how to do if i want to start a new job in mid terms. Just cancel the retirement visa back to B visa ?

Or are there any other ways or kinds of visas i can going for... Permanent Resident or whatever ?

Thanks a lot , Mike

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on their visa status after their work permit cancellation due to job termination and exploring retirement visa options in Thailand. They have been in Thailand for nearly ten years and have a Non B visa valid until October 2020. They inquire whether their visa remains valid after the work permit cancellation, what types of retirement visas are available, and whether they can work with a retirement visa.

From a question about cancel an Extension of Stay, somebody was thinking a 10 year Non Immigrant O-X visa is same same and now we have a Non Immigrant B visa holder who also thinks all same same but different.

Before the missing link marriage ed on amnesty visa is thrown in I close the comments. Please make your own topic if you have questions,

Thanks,

Is there a 10-year retirement visa?

@Lee *****
... yes as Robert mentioned, easy to Google for info but biggest one for most folk is the requirement to have 3mm baht in the bank.

Non-Immigrant Visa โ€œO-Xโ€ (Long Stay)

This type of visa may be issued to nationals and passport holders of Japan, Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States of America with the age of 50 years old and over who wish to stay in Thailand for the maximum period of 10 years (5 years according to visa validity plus an extension for another 5 years). Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited.

It is your Work Permit and you need the documents of cancel this work permit to visit the Immigration Office.

I guess you stay on an Extension of Stay permitted up to 20 Oct 2020, as the text in line 2 of this stamp, and this has to be cancelled on the same day as your Work Permit and termination date of your work
Robert *******
Than you have to visit the Immigration Office and cancel this stamp and change the date into 1 Jul 2020

If you can meet other requirements, like being married or over 50 years, you can directly apply for a new 1 year Extension of Stay.
