I just arrived back in Thailand from UK on Saturday and forgot to get my TM30 stamped. Does it have to be within 24 hours? Wondering if I can do it tomorrow or if I have to scramble to go today (still not 24 hrs but closer!!). Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster forgot to get their TM30 stamped within the 24-hour requirement but later learned from responses that immigration in Chiang Mai is more lenient. They were able to get the stamp without issue despite being late. It appears that the strict 24-hour rule applies primarily to the original notification of address, and the timeframe for stamping after returning may be less stringent, especially if immigration offices are closed on weekends. Other commenters shared similar experiences of not being fined when late.
Thanks for your responses. I went today and there was no problem. I also did my husband's TM30 stamp and he arrived Wednesday last week and there was no problem with that either (5 days later). It seems the urgent 24 hr requirement is only for the original notification of address and that the 24 hr requirement for getting a new stamp after leaving the country is much more lax, at least here in Chiangmai.
