Hi im normally quite savvy with this type of thing but just need to clear something up.

So i want to stay in Thailand for 60 days so I have to apply for the tourist non o at the Thai embassy in London yes?

They are going to want evidence of of outbound flight and more importantly....return flight?.so what if I book return flights first so I have a specific return to London date ...and my visa gets rejected on application??..unless I buy a flexible flight ticket which are normally extortionate...im screwed ?
Answer summary
The individual seeks clarity on applying for a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand at the Thai embassy in London, particularly concerned about the requirement for outbound flight tickets and the risk of booking non-refundable tickets if the visa is rejected. The discussion reveals confusion between the tourist visa and NON-O visa types, emphasizing that a tourist visa is suitable for short stays and does not require a specific return ticket—only proof of onward travel. Community members offer various experiences and advice about the visa process, suggesting options like booking flexible flights, exploring alternative travel plans, and using dummy return tickets to meet application requirements.

No. You can just write flight numbers and dates and upload that

More importantly do you have the required eighteen thousand pounds in your bank account for three months and over fifty years old to aquire a non o visa. Your better obtaining a tourist visa.

Go to the evisa website thaievisa.go.th and set up an account and start to do an application you answer some questions and it gives your the options. Play around. you are applying for a single entry tourist visa TR-60 visa. You should find all the answers by doing it as a dummy run online.

I think you are a little confused between two different visas. The non O is generally for long term stays (retirement or Thai spouse type thing). The tourists visas come in various shapes and sizes but the main ones are the single entry tourist visa, that gives you a 60 day stay and the multiple entry tourist visa which can be used ford multiple trips over a period of six months.

I believe your best option is the single entry tourist visa. You apply for this outside of Thailand. This will give you 60 days.

Just get a visa on arrival and extend it = 60 days. There’s no such thing as a tourist non o visa.

Dave Cooper another stoopeed reply. . . . . . A visa-on-arrival gets you stamped in for 15 days, and these 15 days cannot get extended

Dave Cooper That’s not visa on arrival. It’s no visa - visa exempt.

No

You can go on visa free for 30 days ( be sure to have an ongoing ticket before the end of your FIRST 40 days ....have
*****
( should never have less than that in baht anyway )

Get a 30 day extension. ..

You have to look at Thai holidays etc so you can be sure to get your extension in time .

I would never push it .

All info for what is needed for extension ,but millions and millions of people do it every year and you can too .

Whatever minor trivial annoyances there are it is so so worth it .

Enjoy

Applying for a 60 day tourist visa is cheaper and saves you a lot of time.

Why would you suspect, that your application, would be rejected ??

A non-O is a non-immigrant visa. There's no such thing as a non-O tourist visa. Non-O is for things like retirement, marriage to Thai, having a half Thai child. It's for someone who intends to live in Thailand.

A tourist visa is a 60-day visa, for tourism.

I believe the application does now request your flight ticket. If you qualify for a tourist visa, you will get it. They don't just deny them because they feel like it. As long as you don't misspell your name, or put the wrong passport number in, and provide the required information, the visa will be issued.

And you are not required to purchase a return ticket. You just need onward travel, which means any ticket out of Thailand. They don't care where you are going, as long as you are leaving Thailand.

, this is truly confusing for most ppl not very familiar with the Thai visa ideas, but as Brandon explains visa exemption and turist visa are two different things even though both are for the purpose of tourism and when it comes to extension both regarded as visas for the purpose of tourism. The second most confusing Thai visa idea is that "visa validity" and "granted stay" are not the same (either)...

Tourist visa has always been 60 days, and it will remain 60 days. Tourist visa is something you apply for and pay for.

Those who arrive without a visa and are from eligible countries can enter visa exempt, which means you are exempt from needing a visa. It's not any visa at all. Visa exempt is what recently changed back to 30 days.

that’s not tourist visa, the 30 days you think about are simple entry with exemption of visa - If you just hop on a plane and walk in.

If you want to stay more, you need to apply for a tourist visa in advance.
