So many people talk about being blacklisted? Why? And how did you know? I am worried (I shouldn’t have anything to worry about though)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The term 'blacklisting' in Thailand often arises from misunderstandings and fears among expats, particularly regarding visa issues. Many expats express concern over being blacklisted, though it often stems from bureaucratic problems rather than actual bans. Blacklisting typically occurs due to significant legal infractions such as long overstays or criminal convictions. Most concerns are based on rumors or anxiety over paperwork mishaps and do not reflect actual blacklisting. If a person were to be blacklisted, they would be informed directly during the process.
I guess its the new fearspreading narrative by visa agencies, old grumpy men, people that hate the dtv for whatever reason. usualy anonymous posters… dont worry too much. probably no one is banned from the people that posted this stuff here 🤣
Thank you everybody! I didn’t do anything wrong, just stayed in Thailand (with proper visas) long time. But the DTV is giving me anxiety 😅

And most of them are not blacklisted. People are just being denied because they did something on their paperwork wrong but their victim mentality makes them scream blacklist.

Blacklisting only usually occurs 1) Long overstays 2) Convicted of crimes in a Thai court.
