What are the requirements for applying online for the O-A visa from the US, specifically regarding travel records, proof of residency, and insurance verification?

We are currently applying online for the O-A visa and have some questions. We are Americans coming from the US.

1. We’re suppose to upload our passport pages showing all travel records within past 12 months. We have not traveled but it doesn’t feel like we can leave it blank. It only allows for adding a file, not words, so we can’t explain. Advice?

2. Is drivers license enough for proof of residency in current country?

3. For insurance verification, are our insurance cards enough?

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeking guidance on the online application process for the O-A visa for Americans encountered specific inquiries regarding documentation: how to handle the absence of travel records, the sufficiency of a driver's license as proof of residency, and whether insurance cards meet verification requirements. Responses suggest that for travel records, uploading the first page of the passport suffices, proof of residency might necessitate additional documentation, and insurance certificates are required over insurance cards.

Try AXA insurance I’m currently in Thailand and it’s approved by the Thai Embassy...It’s like $65/month

1&2, just upload the first picture of your passport, the application is the same for everyone and those questions aren't relevant.

3: no, you need to upload the insurance certificate from the insurance company listing the amount covered and duration.

No need to apologize, it's hard to keep up, especially when everyone says something different.

thank you for your reply. Regarding #3 about insurance: for O-A, it didn’t mention Covid coverage, just medical. However, for our daughter who’s applying for ED visa, it’s asking specifically for proof Covid coverage up to a certain amount. Any suggestions which companies provide this? I assume I can’t use travel insurance for this.

LUMA (Thailand based) have just updated their insurance product for travel and covid cover . There's an online app you can apply directly;

So because of covid, everyone entering Thailand right now requires Covid insurance for atleast the 1st 30 days. You can use travel insurance, the certificate must specify they you're covered for covid treatment in Thailand up to $50k usd.

Separately, the Non-OA visa requires health insurance. If your policy covers covid treatment (which it does, they all do) then you can use it, you just need them to send you a letter/certificate stating the above.

the student (ED) visa application still says 100k Covid insurance. It gets confusing bc website says one thing but these groups seem to know more:).

In not mixing anything up, nothing has changed besides the coverage amount. And no, non immigrant visa holders don't need covid insurance for the duration of their stay.
