Hi All. I hope everyone had a nice Songkran. My phone didn’t survive it! Sadly 💦

Quick question.

I’m currently in Thailand on a 90 day non O. I plan to apply for my marriage visa at my local immigration office in Nonthaburi on day 60 (I heard you maybe able to do it after 45 days, not sure if that’s true?) So I take with me:

- My passport

- My wife will be with me so she’ll have her Thai i.d

- Marriage Certificate/documents

- Supporting documents as proof of the 400,000 bht security deposit in a Thai bank account are as follows:

* Updated bank book or passbook.

* Bank letter stating that the money was deposited to the account from an overseas source not less than 2 months prior.

Anything else I need to bring with me or is that it?

Thanks for your help in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is asking about the necessary documentation to apply for a marriage visa in Thailand while currently holding a 90-day Non-O visa. They plan to apply at the Nonthaburi immigration office and are unsure if they can do so after 45 days. Commenters confirmed that applying 45 days prior is allowed and offered advice on required documents, including the importance of having a detailed transaction report from the bank to prove the funds deposited for the required security deposit.

3 months minimum of bank statements. House book.

There is no proof the funds come from abroad when getting a year extension on a non-O visa based on marriage and the bank letter doesn't have anything but your name, passport, account number and the balance they day they write the letter,

You also need to have them print out a 3 month detail transaction report (they can do it on demand) that's what immigrations will use (in addition to your bank book) to see that the balance was above 400k baht for 2 months before you apply for the extension

Definitely GO to the Nonthaburi Immigration office with your thai wife well before you're going to apply for the year extension and get the hand out listing the exact requirements from that office

Also make sure you have a TM30 filed showing you're registered as staying in the area served by the Nonthaburi Immigration office too

thanks Tod. I hadn’t heard about the TM30. I looked it up though and it states it can be filed online so that helps. Will get that sorted.

@Dominic ******
You can do the TM30 online with the help (copies of documents) from your landlord

@Dominic ******
this is what the standard bank letter looks like too that you want the bank to give you in addition to the 3 month detail transaction report

Nonthaburi allows you to apply 45 days before.

You might have trouble getting that letter I am not sure. You can also ask for ‘credit advice’ which are statements that show incoming transfers.

@Jack *******
they should have no issue getting their thai bank to issue the standard bank letter OR print the detail transaction report showing the balance for the last 3 months

@Tod ********
the ‘letter’ I have seen states the account balance and not that the transfers came from outside Thailand which the OP asked for.

@Jack *******
correct, the letter as I showed in the example is just a couple lines long and does not show where the balance came from

I believe the O/P didn't realize that there is no proof of funds origin using banked money method when applying for a yearly extension based on marriage to a thai or retirement. 🙂
