For those who got their non o marriage visa in Vientiane in Laos, did you have to have your marriage certificate translated into Thai? I have a USA marriage certificate (in English).
Thanks!
Answer summary
Individuals obtaining a Non-O marriage visa in Vientiane typically do not need to have their USA marriage certificates translated into Thai for the visa application. However, if they plan to use the certificate for a Kor Ror 22 (certificate of family status), it must be translated and legalized. The official guidelines mention that Thai or English documents should be acceptable, but some participants expressed concerns about possible changes to the requirements or outdated information.

Why do people go too Lao for this step i heard several times
If you're planning to extend that Non-O in Thailand and were married in the US there are lots of other hoops you need to jump through though. You need it apostilled by the state you were married in, authenticated by a Thai consulate in the US then translated and approved by the MFA in Thailand
Buffalo Mike Explain how you get married when already married. The hoops talked about companies in Bangkok due all the leg work for a couple of thousand baht, I had my NZ certicate all translated and done per the embassy but first trip to Amphur to get required letter for immigration the lady said this could be a fake, considered my wife of 20 years still single. So good luck.
Well... you do not need it translated if you are applying for a Non-O marriage visa. However, if you intend to use that marriage certificate to request a Kor Ror 22 (certificate of family status), then you need to translate and legalize it. This Kor Ror 22 is required if you want to get a yellow house registration book or a pink Thai ID card. Some people will tell you it is not needed, but it is worth getting, if you ask me.
I was thinking the same thing. The official website said Thai or English but that page is outdated 2 years ago so asking if recently there has been any changes for documents to be translated into Thai? All my documents are in English
