3 Month tourist visa | ID Card

Hello together, when I apply for a 3 month tourist visa they ask me for a "Document indicating current residency" (ID-Card) but my ID card is expired and I can't apply for a new one because I don't have an address in Germany anymore.

They say I have to prove my residency, so they know which embassy is responsible for my application.

What Document do I upload in this case?

Thanks in advance!

M.

You live in Germany and from Germany but don't have an address there? They're going to assume you are permanently moving to Thailand and will deny you.

When you don’t have a home anywhere, then the 60 days tourist visa is not an option, then you have to do the more risky way with extensions and visaruns, which is also more expensive.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR E-VISA WITH THE ROYAL THAI EMBASSY

Residents of xxxxx who currently residing in these countries may apply for e-visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in xxxxx through

. Proof of residency are required.

Those currently residing in other countries should contact the Royal Thai Embassy in their respective countries.

They must contact the Thai Immigration Bureau for visa matters.

Nationals of xxxxx who are currently traveling in other countries and wish to travel to Thailand cannot apply for e-visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in xxxxx. They may either enter Thailand under 30-day tourist visa exemption scheme or contact the Royal Thai Embassy in the countries they are traveling in if they wish to stay in Thailand for longer than the tourist visa exemption scheme allowed. If they wish to apply with the Royal Thai Embassy in xxxxx, those nationals of xxxxx must first return to their respective countries before applying.

When I applied for mine in Portugal I needed to show them a valid residency ID. They even were kind of weird about it expiring while I was in Thailand which then I had to prove I can renew my residency in Portugal.

You can apply for a new identity card at the German Embassy in Bangkok when you are in Thailand.

If you don't have residency in a country where you're attempting to use an Evisa application, then you cannot apply.

It's as simple as that.

Germany, along with many other countries, residents require an ID card.

Thanks, does it mention your address on the driving license? Because on the German Driving License, it does not.

change the personal address of your bank card to an address of a family member then report the card stolen and have them send you another card and/or request online statement of account emailed to you if address is listed or just have them mail it to that address.

Most people have something that shows their address in the country they reside. Credit card bill, bank statement, etc.

Bank statement sounds good, it says my (old) address on there. But not sure if that's sufficient as evidence.

I've got my German passport, but there is no address on it.

I used to have an ID-Card but it's expired and I can't renew it because you only get it if you are a resident. (In Germany you can be a citizen without an active residency)

your proving you're entitled to live in the country you're applying from. If you live in Germany and police stop you, how do you show your proof of address.

If you don't have an address in Germany how are you applying through the embassy in Germany?

They need to see something with your address. A utility bill or piece of mail perhaps. Something showing you're residing in Germany.

Yeah, I'm in Germany, I'm still having the address of my parents where I lived before. On my Bank Statement, it says my address but not sure if it's sufficient to upload the bank statement there again.

I think bank statement would do it. I don't know if it has changed, but in the past I heard people just did the passport again in that field, if they were a citizen of the country they were applying in.

it asks you what your passport is and what country you are in.

If you're in Germany then you have an address. If you're not in Germany you cannot apply through the embassy in Germany.
