TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirement to provide proof of residency when applying for a Thai visa from a country where the applicant is not a national. Responses clarify that if you hold a residency permit in the country from which you are applying, you need to provide that as proof. For British passport holders, this requirement is not applicable, and they can ignore it. The conversation shifts towards discussing different visa types suitable for applicants in the UK, including marriage and retirement visas, alongside mentions of the tourist visa.

If you are applying for a Thai visa in a country that you are not a citizen of, you'll have to upload your residency permit of that country.

For example, if you are a British person living in the USA with a "Green Card" (A residency permit), you'd upload your green card in that screen.

If you're not a British national and hold a resident card, you need to show that. Otherwise your passport should be sufficient

If you are not a national of the country you're applying from, you need to prove that you're a legal resident.

For example, if you're applying in the UK, but aren't British, you need to show your UK residency permit.

It's not asking for proof of residence. It's asking for a residence permit IF applicant is not a UK citizen.

Jane Beresford. I said "proof of residency status". Same thing. I was pointing out that a council tax bill does not suffice?
