TLDR : Answer Summary
A German citizen, aged 53, is looking to understand the process and requirements for changing from a Tourist Visa (TR Visa) in Thailand to a Non-O Visa, which may be based on retirement. Key steps include transferring 800,000 baht to a Thai bank account or obtaining an affidavit of income proving a monthly income of at least 65,000 baht. Applying for the Non-O Visa requires at least 15 days remaining on the current visa or a valid extension.

are you here already on your tourist visa entry AND have you already gotten the 30 day extension from it?

No, it's about exploring the possibilities when I return, as soon as I re-enter, I have to take care of everything directly, I want to know everything exactly so that it works perfectly

then come in on a tourist visa, get thru the quarantine, head over to your immigration office and ASK them if you can show proof of funds with the money already here or not.

you either transfer in 800K baht into a thai bank account in your name only and then go apply for an in country 90 day Non-O visa based on 'retirement' at the immigration office for 2000baht

OR

You see if your embassy issues the "affidavit of income from abroad" notary letter and if they do go get one that says you get at least 65K baht a month and then go apply for an in country 90 day Non-O visa based on 'retirement' at the immigration office for 2000baht

You would need at least 15 days left on your current 60 day entry stamp OR an extension from that stamp to apply because the application goes under consideration for 2 weeks before you go back and get the 90 day visa inked in.

That's the first step to getting a year long stay based on retirement.

I ask because it is much less effort to process everything in Thailand than from Germany

If the money is already in Thailand, on an exchange, and therefore does not come from abroad, but from a Thai exchange

you need to talk to your immigration office where you're going to apply for the Non-O visa, some offices require you show that it was transferred in from abroad

AND

Keep the posts in english please, thanx

I think that you have a good workable plan and shouldn't have much trouble at all IF you can clear it with what ever immigration office you're using that the funds are already here in a thai bank account in your name only so you can apply for the Non-O visa

I understand it correctly as soon as my money is in the bank long enough, it's almost done. What about health insurance or other requirements

there is a lot of writing, so I ask here specifically still once

also you're confusing two separate things. the 800K baht does not need to be in a bank account for any specific time when you apply for the 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement. It only has to be transferred in from overseas into your account.

The 'seasoning' comes up after you have the Non-O visa and go to apply for the year extension. That's when the money needs to be in the account for 2 months before you apply <- BUT it will be because you just transferred it in when you applied for the 90 day non-O visa.

@Oliver *******
there is no health insurance required because you're getting the visa inside the country
