TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a 1-year extension of your NON-O retirement visa, you should use the TM7 form, which is indeed the correct form for this purpose. You can submit your application within a window of 30 days prior to your visa expiration. However, some immigration offices, like those in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, may allow you to apply up to 45 days in advance. It's advisable to check with your local immigration office for the most current requirements and policies.

TM7 is the right form to apply for an extension for any reason including retirement. Some offices may have their own additional form(s).

Your window to apply for a 1-year extension based on retirement is 30 days before until permitted-to-stay-until date at most offices. Some offices including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and a few other provinces allow you to apply 45 days before until the due date.

Here is general information on a 1-year extension based on being over 50. But details vary for each immigration office.

Go to your local immigration office to get the latest requirements list and check the timeline you can apply for an extension there.

, Check with your embassy in Thailand if they would issue one as early as possible. Not all countries issue it. Some countries such as US, UK, or AU, etc, stopped issuing affidavits for this several years ago.
