Greetings all! I am super excited to let you all know that my DTV was approved!

I received lots of helpful information by searching within the group so thank you!

UPDATE:

Date of Application: 12 Dec 24

Date of Approval: 16 Dec 24

Embassy: Washington, D.C.

DTV purpose/category: Thai soft power related activity

Company: Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy (highly recommend)

*For my Veterans*

I’m not sure if it helped any, IF at all, but when I submitted my bank statement, I also submitted my VA benefit letter with it. (I combined the two documents into one via Adobe)

I’m not saying you NEED to do that, as it’s not a required document to submit, but since there was no opportunity to submit additional documents, MY logic for doing that was to show them that in addition to the money in my account, I also have monthly income coming in. That way they can see I can absolutely support myself financially while in the country.

hi! Of course.

So after I paid the deposit and sent them proof via WA, it took about 2 days for them to email me documents I needed to submit to apply. The documents they sent were the receipt of my deposit, my acceptance letter, a four-page document in Thai, a copy of the administrator’s ID and the menu itinerary. I personally didn’t submit the menu itinerary document because it was 22 pages so I just combined the other four documents into one PDF and uploaded that as proof.

Can I attend thai language school as well? It makes more sense to me than attending music festivals

the schools making good money. So basically $1500 with the visa for 5 years but have to leave every 6 months. So, $300 per years plus travel. I like cooking but think I might do medical on something I need.

I’d round up to about $1,200 USD, not $1,500 but I see your point. I couldn’t think of a medical treatment that would require me to get a visa, and there was a Muay Thai option I could have chosen that’s 30,000 THB but based on my age, I felt the cooking course was the safest option for me.
