TLDR : Answer Summary
To convert a Non-B visa to a marriage visa (Non-O visa) in Thailand, it's important to note that you cannot directly convert the visa while in the country. Instead, if you're on an extension of stay based on employment, you can change the reason for this extension to marriage. Required documents typically include proof of financial resources (such as a minimum of 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account for at least 2 months or evidence of income from employment), marriage documents, identification documents of your spouse, a map, and other required paperwork which can vary by immigration office. It's recommended to visit your local immigration office for specific requirements.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
IF you are still going to keep your job you CAN use salary inside thailand as the proof of funds to get the marriage extension. You have to show a minimum of 40K baht a month, for the previous 3 months, you need documents from the company, tax documents, contract, work permit, pay stubs, etc and you'd need a letter from that company saying it's okay for you to go off the Non-B to switch to a marriage extension
Some companies don't want you switching off because they have no control over your visa if you do ๐ฎ
when you go to your immigration office to get the documentation for the requirements for the marriage extension ask them what is required if you meet the financials using monthly income by working inside thailand as the method

Lets get practical.
You can NOT change the reason of your stay after it is issued.
NO, you do not have to resign or get fired to be inside Thailand based on visiting Thai family.
Go to your local Immigration Office, get the hand out of requirements, be aware that there are multiple options to meet the financial requirement, discus this with the officer and see which option does fits you. One of them is income made in Thailand.
Than make an appointment, so you have time to get all needed documents to apply for this 1 year Extension of Stay based on visiting Thai Family.
You can do this before your current stay ends or cancel your current stay and apply for a new 1 year of stay.
And in your first comment, you tell you can change the reason for an issued Extension of Stay.
As things may sound otherwise to you, I like to give correct information and not I type something that sound easy but is actually wrong.
You forgot in your comment the income requirements.
Again you can NOT change the reason, if you cancel the extension of stay it is cancelled and not valid, you apply for a NEW Extension of Stay with a NEW reason. NEW and NEW is not change what you had.
you cancel the current extension and immediately apply for a NEW extension for a different REASON <- which is why I call it "changing the reason for an extension" ๐ I've referred to it for years and years that way

And that process is called "change of reason of stay". For obvious reasons.
boy that has to be a Nakhon Nowhere backwater office because unless you come from a country whose embassy issues the income affidavit notary NO immigration office (that I know of) is allowing proof of foreign income without transferring that money in every month for the previous 12 months no matter what proof you have. .. ๐
It is ๐ To be fair, that pension is paid directly into my Thai account, and I have to provide them with my yearly pension statement and all my Thai bank statements. I should have made that clearer in my post.
ahh, then you're just meeting the proof of funds using monthly income method by international transfer <- which is totally an ok way to do it ๐ has nothing at all to do with where who pays you that money, only that you're transferring it in each month, every month for the previous 12 months.

You can't "convert" a Non-B visa to a Non-O visa inside the country
BUT
With that being said I am doubtful you're actually on any Non-B visa and it's far more likely you're on a yearly extension of stay based on employment FROM an original 90 day Non-B visa.
You CAN change the reason for an extension from employment to marriage to a thai national.
You'd need to have banked the 400K baht in a thai bank account for 2 months before you want to change from employment extension to a marriage extension. AND with over 80 immigration offices in the country you should go to your office and get the hand out listing the requirements as far as photos, map, marriage documents, wife's documents, bank letter, bank statement, copies of your passport, etc. so you know what's what
This is a general list (NOT office specific) of what a marriage extension can require

What you would do is get documentation from your employer stating on xxx date you stop work, get all your documents ready for the marriage extension, go to the immigration office cancel the employment extension and immediately apply for a new extension based on marriage to a thai. You will pay the 1900baht and get an under consideration stamp (usually for 30 days), when that stamp runs down you go back and get the year extension inked into your passport
