About the documents when applying for a visa and extension for being married to a Thai. How does it work when the Thai spouse's house book is for a property very far from where the couple are working and living? Does it matter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national, the primary requirement is to provide the spouse's house book and other supporting documents. It doesn't generally matter if the house book is for a property located far from where the couple lives and works, as long as proper documentation is provided. It’s important to include a valid TM30 showing the registration at the address being used, and both partners should attend the application together. Additionally, recent bills and documents proving residence might be needed.

Ive just done this ,we gave copies of original house book(with spouse name listed) then gave chanote, blue book and latest power bill of the house book we wanted to use as our place of residence and where we,had police come to visit the following day

This was Hua hin immigration about a,week ago.

We were told beforehand what was needed to use a housebook without her name listed.

you need the photos, and your wife has to go with you when you apply (seeing as she's the reason you're able to get the extension 😉 😛 )

you should GO to your immigration office and get the hand out listing the exact requirements for that office,

This is a general list of what's required it is NOT office specific but will get you in the ball park

Doesn't matter at all, tonz of thaiz are listed in house books in the town they were born in. That doesn't affect anything for your application you just need her thai i/d and her house book listing..

You on the other hand need to have a valid TM30 showing you're registered as living in the address you're using for your extension 🙂

It does matter. My Thai wife, scrapped her presence in her family Blue book in Wang Nam Yen, where she was born, Sa Kaew province.

Removed her from there, also our daughter and got both of them into our Blue Book Bangkok Condo where they (and me) officially live. She did it all online, Thai house managemnent has gone online and very good. Based on their Blue Book, I got my Yellow book on the condo in BKK.

Many thanks Tod. Is it the eventual photos that prove the couple are actually living under the same roof then? Or do both go along to Immigration to declare that?

Gordon_Bennett🙏 The reason for your application (i.e. your wife) must accompany you when applying then there is the probability of a house visit during the under consideration period.
