Chiang Mai Immigration Promenada
Extension Success on Sep 23rd
I arrived at 0850 and walked out at 1015. It wasn't packed, but it filled up a bit by 9. When I left there was maybe 25 people.
I got the 30 day extension stamp. NOT the under consideration one.
I'm a US Citizen on
Visa on Arrival 30 Days (from March 18th)
I BROUGHT (and they took) ONE copy each of:
- passport info page
- entry stamp and signature card (on same photocopy)
- Extension request form
- Acknowledgement of penalties
- 1 passport photo
- 1900 baht
- * The guy at the door also gave me an additional different extension request form which I quickly filled out in front of him and he gave me a queue number.
You can arrive early and grab forms to fill out from baskets out front. There were pens and glue for the photo.
***TM 30 - They asked, but...
I checked into a hotel in CM last night and asked them to be sure to do the TM30 and please print me a copy. They wouldn't give me a copy. When Immigration checked, the last place that put me down was Petchaburi on Sept 17th.
It was looking like I was going to have to go ask the hotel again and then wait at least a day to be in the system and come back, but they took my passport and cash and told me to wait. Maybe 10 minutes later they took my picture and told me to sit again. Then they called me up again and said "Ok, you can stay until Oct 26th."
I would definitely try to make sure your TM30 is taken care of if possible. I did of a lot of explaining that may have let me slip by on this.
I'll update this if they call me asking about TM30 again.
