I didnt find this question here before, so I will open the topic:

Obtaining a tourist visa to get married in thailand, with a thai spouse. Is there any kind of documentation one could bring to show to the IO at the airport to support the claim that one is coming to marry his wife? Lets say if they pull you aside for questioning.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a tourist visa for marrying a Thai spouse, it's advisable to have documentation that supports your intention to marry, such as an appointment confirmation for a civil ceremony in Thailand and a letter from your embassy stating that you are not currently married, which should also be translated into Thai. Additionally, having sufficient funds (around 20,000 Baht), hotel bookings, and a return flight ticket can assist in ensuring the visa process goes smoothly.

Having a Tourist visa, 20k funds, hotel booking and return flight you should be fine anyway.

Probably if you get appointment for civil ceremony.

But before getting that you need letter from your embassy stating you are not married and that translated into thai.

Do you have copy of your birth certificate.
