I am United States citizen, to qualify for the marriage 1-year visa I have to show proof of 400,000 THB in Thai bank account OR get proof from my embassy that I earn 40,000 THB a month. Does this mean my overseas online job that pays this much will suffice? Thank you for the help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A U.S. citizen inquiring about the requirements for Thailand's marriage 1-year visa wonders if proof of earning 40,000 THB per month from an overseas online job is adequate. Comments clarify that to qualify, one typically needs a Non Immigrant O visa and an affidavit from the U.S. Embassy, along with possible proof of money transfers to Thailand. It is suggested to obtain a notarized income letter as documentation.

Are you married sir? Or just looking for options?

You have a lot of time to collect money ๐Ÿ˜‰ Pls note that it is impossible to get 1-year visa in Pattaya if no 400'000THB but it is possible in other Thai provinces. Sure you can pay local lawyer around 20k to "resolve" this problem for 1 year. Or you can go to Savannakhet, Laos and to get 1-year Non-O multi visa for 5000THB fee but every 90 days you need to go on visa-run for next 90 days border stamp.

We are getting married in February 2019 and I just learned I don't have to have 400,000 THB parked in an account to qualify for marriage visa. looking for my options before I pay for another education visa unnecessarily :D.

Before you can get this "marriage 1 year visa", actually called an Extension of Stay based on marriage with a Thai National, you need the Non Immigrant O visa. You just made a topic about getting a TV first and than a new ED visa.

Savanaket do not ask for financial statements for a one year multiple entry non O visa based on marriage.

for the income verification?

If you want to use the income as proof, you need the affidavit from your Embassy. Depending on Immigration office proof of money transfers to Thailand could be asked.
