Hi. I am contemplating a return to Bangkok to teach and I am seeking overall advice. I have a new job offer at a school in Bangkok and I plan to arrive within the first week of July due to the foreigner ban. I will be applying for my non-b visa in the states and then getting a work permit later on in Thailand. The school is going to provide housing. Will I have to stay 14 days in a government sanctioned quarantine center? Or will I be allowed to quarantine in my own apartment? Are there any other documents that I will need to have with me to get into the country besides my non-b visa? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on returning to Bangkok for a teaching position, focusing on visa application and quarantine requirements due to ongoing travel restrictions. They plan to apply for a non-B visa in the U.S. and are uncertain about whether they will face a 14-day quarantine in a government facility or could quarantine at home. Additional documentation needed for entry into Thailand is also in question.

I guess it would be difficult for her to get in Thailand in July without work permit

Please review my replies I have posted.

If you have any questions...please ask.

You are not alone in seeking entry back into Thailand.

Frankly speaking...as you do not have a valid Thai work permit its likely you will not obtain the permission to enter Thailand at this time.

You will need a letter of request from your new school....to support any application you make. It may not be feasible to pursue at this time...with hope the entry into Thailand is available sometime in coming months.

Good Luck...take good care

You will need to obtain special permission to enter Thailand obtained thru the Foreign Ministry of Thailand.

As you know Thailand is now closed to foreigners...thru June 30. Subject to further announcement by CAAT...Thai government.

You will need a letter from the Thai government allowing you to enter. Otherwise you will have to quarantine.

everyone has to quarantine in either a state facility or an alternative state quarantine facility (very expensive quarantine hotel package)

a 14 day quarantine is mandatory for all who arrive into Thailand.

No exceptions.

you'll need a letter from the Thai government. To my knowledge, quarantine is mandatory and not an option

What is your home/passport country?

You need to contact the Thai Embassy in the US to get application for permission to enter Thailand as an essential employee of economic importance.
