My wife and I are on an OA Retirement visa. This expires on January 23 2023. Our intention was to leave Thailand ( currently in Perth, Western Australia) and return on the 12 January 2023 and get stamped back into Thailand for another 12 months. We have our health insurance requirements for this visa. Is there anything we are required to do prior arriving back at Phuket airport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user and their spouse are currently on an OA Retirement visa, which is set to expire soon. They plan to return to Thailand before the expiration date and are seeking confirmation on the necessary preparations for re-entry into Thailand. Key replies emphasize having health insurance and proper documentation ready, as well as considering a re-entry permit for subsequent travel.

I need to be in the states when my retirement visa renewal is due.can I renew from the U.S? Is there a time frame for renewal ( one week before retirement visa, expiration date, ex)

And length of stay necessary for renewal. Thank you

@Fran ****
most offices allow 30 days prior. Some allow 45 days prior. You cannot do an extension from overseas.

Do remember that on your “second” year of that visa you’ll need to buy a re-entry permit to keep the date “alive” if you intend to leave and return at anytime during the year.

As long as you have the insurance and your passport and visa you should be good to go.
