I need to extend my tourist visa and want to try the e visa extension. I read the information on the official website but I don’t really get it… I have to go to the office and get my stamp at the e visa counter. Yes. But is it necessary that I go the before my actual visa is running out? Or can I go whenever i want?
Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the timeline for applying for a Thai e-visa extension, questioning whether they must apply before their current visa expires. Comments reveal that while the e-extension simplifies some aspects, applicants still need to visit the immigration office physically to obtain the extension stamp, and it’s advisable to apply before the entry stamp expires, although there may be flexibility depending on the type of visa held.
Thanks for your information. I guess I will stick with the good old early morning walk in since the e extension makes not a big difference except paying even more fees 😅
You don't have to go before your visa expires, if you actually have a visa and not a visa exempt entry stamp. You DO need to go before your entry stamp expires though. Visa expiration and entry stamp expiration are two separate things.
the 30-days touristic E-extension is in an experimental phase only available in Bangkok. And it doesn't cut any ice - you still have to visit Immigration physically after having received the E-Extension, in order to get the extension stamp inked into your passport ! Thai finesse at its best ! 😎
Obviously you have to go before your stamp runs out, because it's an extension.
There's really not much point in the e-extension because you still have to go into the office and bring all the documents that you uploaded, and you'll have to pay extra for it.
You can just make a free appointment for your immigration office and pay the normal 1900₿ or do a walk-in.
