Hello! Not sure if this topic has been covered: I am on a retirement extension and got an online job offer from a Chinese company. What would it take to convert my visa to a "B" in order to work legally in Thailand and register for tax? Thank you, much appreciated...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to convert their retirement visa to a "B" visa to work legally for a Chinese company online in Thailand. Responses suggest that working online may not always require a work permit, as evidenced by many digital nomads. However, if the user aims for legality, they would need to partner with a Thai company, apply for a work permit, and proceed with the visa conversion process.

If you believe it - then yes

Doesn’t ‘working’ online count as not working as per the thousands of digital nomads in Thailand who don’t have work permits?

I think for the law if you get salary in thailand it mean you work. you can choose to be paid in your own country but... you will have to pay taxes there too...

Or you would form you own company and doe the same with you as a Shar holder / Director - then Work Permit and B Via application using the services of an Agent - Accountant and Lawyer

Your company would have to partner ina a Thai Registered Company, and as your employer they would have staff or an Agent begin the documentation to get you a Work Permit Application started and then you would apply for a B Visa
